About you-too
People with disabilities have enormously widened their boundaries of mobility within the past years. Travel- and tourist companies have aroused their interest in Handicap as a new, important group of people with delayed travel perspectives and are offering an attractive programme. Many European cities, communities and regions have become aware of this trend and have accomplished city and past-time guides for disabled visitors.
Most of these guides do not show the reliability of the collected Data - the publications also lack a general standard for the presentation and processing.
you-too is working on this. An integrated system for the collection and publication of information on accessibility of hotels, restaurants, railways stations and other public facilities.
you-too Internet-Information service
Data from different European cities and regions are available within a multi-language Internet Information service. Who ever is planning to travel can decide from home by PC, which facilities at the destination of travel suit his/her individual requirements.
you-too Collection Tool
The collection tool supports the collection of data for you-too. Organisations that intend to give information on the accessibility of their city or on specific types of facilities, i.e. Hotels or public authorities can use the software. The Collection Tool ensures that the collected data can be integrated into the internet database. Local publishers of information have the possibility to provide collected information to travellers throughout Europe.
you-too Label
Facilities whose accessibility is inspected on the basis of you-too can obtain the you-too label. The label shows that reliable information on the accessibility of the facility are available. At the same time it includes an evaluation of the actual status of the accessibility.
